Here's a quick how-to on enabling WPA-PSK Security on Windows CE 4.x using a supplicant software called AEGIS client.

1. Configure your WiFi access point / router to use WPA-PSK Security. If you're unsure how to do this, consult Google or the documentation for your access point / router.
2. Download AEGIS client for PPC and Windows CE.
3. Install AEGIS client by running the downloaded EXE, transferring the extracted CAB to your Windows CE 4.x device using your preferred method (memory card is by far the easiest one) and then launching the CAB on your Windows CE 4.x device.
4. Configure AEGIS client following the picture guide below.
5. Pump fist. :)

I'm ready to answer the questions you may have, but please consult Google before asking the more general ones. I would really like to keep this thread as specific and focused as possible.

Tried it quite a few times on the Sig3 (ce .net 4.1) and couldn't get aegis client to work with the marvell chipset.

Will try again... Is this a new version of the software?

Just downloaded...

This is for CE .net 4.2... I tried this version on Sig3 and couldn't get it working... Maybe redgear will make it work

Could be mistaken but I think the marvell card has WPA on 4.2 anyway...

May be handy for other cards on the 900C where card supports WPA but driver doesn't have option

John,

I am fully aware of your situation. I wouldn't have posted a how-to if a soution had been already available. I have successfully tested this on my Sigmarion III with I-O Data WN-G54/CF card (which I purchased not half an hour ago from this very boutique (thanks, stingraze!).

Please follow my how-to and kindly report the results.

I will but did trial this software at length...

And only posted as I had done this testing and you didn't mention Sig3 so thought worth mentioning my experience... Whn I tried it the mode did change to authenticated but actually wasn't connected....

However as you seem to have had some luck I will re-try.

Thanks for info.

John

Wooo-Hoooo.... It works.... I wonder if this sorts hidden SSID as well as it replaces zero config.

Thanks for this. Think it must be a diffrent version of the software as it defo didn`t work before at all and I am sure it was a symbol download (did hard re-sets and everything to try and get it working).

Wooo-Hoooo indeed! =) I'm glad it worked for you too.
There is a newer version of AEGIS client, 2.1.13 (you'll need to click "More" at the end of the list to see it), which is now Cisco-branded, includes some minor bugfixes (related to 802.1x authentication that most of us will never use in our life), and, most importantly, refuses to operate without a license number.

The newer version is over there: AEGIS v2.1.13. You'll be able to see a link to it (and some more assorted goodies you might find interesting) if you enable JavaScript in your browser and click the "More" link under the "Release Date" (rightmost) column at the end of the "Software Downloads" table here.

anyway there are four cenet 4.2 versions, all ask for a license key?

Think he mentioned all ask for a key....

I used the older version on part 2 of his first post... Did some more testing and so far WPA seems to be stable
