Can't tell if it has a portrait mode setting built in.

Another 800 x 480 pixel device...is that to become the standard? What do you call it? I mean I know VGA and HVGA...is is 800 x 480 called?

I'd be willing to bet there is not built in portrait...but has anyone tried Nyditot with their netbook yet?

800x480 is WVGA (WideVGA).

The most cool thing of that tablet is 800 MHz CPU, 512 of RAM and hardware 1080p support with HDMI output... It should easily outperform Smart V7.

The only real difference is the extra 256mb of RAM. Other than that, this tablet uses the Telechips 8901 whereas the SmartQ V7 uses Telechips 8902. Bboth are the same ARM11 core, just this tablet is overclocked some from the get-go, like the latest Q7 firmware (800MHz). There's no mention of what type of RAM this tablet uses, but the V7 uses DDR2. Also, I couldn't find what (if any) graphics acceleration this tablet has, does it have Mali like the V7? Lastly, this tablet has about half the battery capacity a the V7, which is not a good sign.

With this in mind, I can't see this easily outperforming the V7.

Still the V7 is not overclocked yet.

Mali... Cool it is, but still not very many 3D games for CE.

The article says 800x480, but then the specs at the bottom say 800x600.

Portrait mode might be doable with one of the third-party utilities in the MioPocket package.
