Asus has announced the EeePad EP101TC today at Computex. It is running Windows Embedded Compact 7 on a Tegra 2 processor.

Engadget have a hands on video. Just don't get confused because they also look at the EeePad EP121 which is running Windows 7.

It's nice to see a 7 device, but I'm disappointed to see that the sample shell still hasn't changed.

I know that Microsoft always intended for no one to use the sample shell, but lets face it, hardly anyone actually implements their own shell.

Sorry, my bad! I chose the photo with with normal CE shell because it confirms WinEC7. Asus themselves have their own shell overlay which looks very good. Check out the Engadget link for the full range of photos! I just wish there were more native apps for WinEC, but as long as the device has a competent web browser (IE7 based) then that mitigates the situation somewhat.
