The rise in popularity of Linux and Unix ports to the Handheld PC has been increasing slowly but surely recently, if you are having a problem with migration to a *nix based platform, this is now the area to post in.
When posting new threads please be sure to include:
The make & model of your H/PC
Details on the existing Windows CE OS of your H/PC
Information on how and where you're trying to install too (CF/ROM/Main RAM)
Which distribution you are trying to install (JLime, BSD etc)
Please note that this forum is NOT for general Linux or Unix enquiries on PC or MAC distributions, and neither is it intended for use by users of devices that shipped with Linux.
Thanks to the openess of our great Admins!! And naturally, the credits goes to those *nix folks who spend a bundle of their time, effort and often money to develop those distros.
Does anyone have any information and photos of what Linux looks like on a NEC 790. I am really curious and would like to try to get some form of Linux installed on mine. I'd also like to know if anyone has any opinion of whether or not the display quality looks better than when using CE. I use my mobilepro for web browsing(wirelessly), e-mail, pocket office, watch TV shows(mpeg) and I would like to have all of these things available in Linux. I don't have a problem with the speed of H/PC 2000 so as long as it's as fast as H/PC i would be happy. Any opinions/comments? If I missed a post covering this already,, please forgive me and provide a link to the previous post...
