How's everyone been doing lately? Haven't been here much this year..been busy with my new job-work in a pawn shop haha. Deal with a lot of electronics everyday. No one's tried to pawn their handheld PC, but I have turned away some old Pocket PCs before (unless you count me taking in a Windows CE 5.0 barcode scanner for pawn...lol). Now I'm just trying to some dieting and lose some weight, as well as getting into reading more again. It is good to be back, I'm going to make an effort to stay active--both here on HPC:Factor and in the outside world.

Pawn shop might be a fun place to work if you could get HPCs for a buck...

Very true, and we do have a way to take something in that we normally wouldn't take--that's how I got an HTC TyTn. It'd be awesome if someone brought in a MP 900c

Which model barcode scanner is it? I've had some fun with a couple of those:

I'm not sure offhand. I know our store issued one is a Motorola MC9090--the one we use for Inventory. However, the Wifi always drops out, so it makes it quite difficult to use.

I'm doing great.

Been doing some part-time job translating paragraphs and app UI for a foreign company from English to Japanese. The apps are for iOS / Mac OS X.
Also, I've been recently selling on eBay a lot more too. (games and some PDAs like Zaurus at times)

It's hard to believe it's almost Christmas!

Just thought I'd drop by and say hello.

My son is now two and a half years old and he's a great kid. I started my own computer repair/shop business in December 2011 and this January finally managed to break even for the first time. Hope to start making some profit soon

Still living in this hole called Idrija. It's not a bad little town in itself but that's a different story.

How are you guys doing? I see some of the regulars are still hanging around

Cheers!
Saint

Computer repair business is tough. Not the repairing, but making it make a profit. Too high an inventory and the parts soon become outdated. Don't have the parts and no one does business with you. I don't envy you. I must have built a zillion machines in my years, and repaired twice that many...nowadays all I get in payment is a plate of chocolate chip cookies from the neighbors.

BTW, what do they speak where you live, Yugoslavian, German, Italian, or Russian or what?

Having lived in Slovenia a while back, I've actually spent several nights in Idrija, brought visitors to its mercury mine, and stayed one night at that very fancy hotel at the top of a hill (its name fails me right now, but it has slo-food, very antique, and we had a splendid time).

The lace curtains that hang in our kitchen were made in Idrija.
