Don't know how many of you are using the WMDC over ActiveSync...but I don't recall anyone talking about the device icon for their handhelds. Anyways, if you search the internet, it is pretty easy to modify the icon that shows up when you make an WMDC connection with your handheld. I'm using the generic USB drivers found here on HPCFactor with Windows 7 and WMDC 6.1.
You can read all about on the internet...but in a nutshell, you have to 1
) Create a 256x256 icon file. 2
) Copy that to your Windows folder on your HPC. 3
) If you have already established a WMDC connection, then you need to delete it, and you need to uninstall the USB drivers using the device manager...in other words, start from scratch like it is brand new. Then the steps are easy...install WMDC, plug in your handheld and load the USB drivers and that should pretty much be it.
Anyways, here is a screenshot of WMDC running on my desktop Win7 Home Edition, also included is the icon file that I made should you want to do this yourself.
