Managed to get one of these cheap on ebay its all Japanese, however on the bottom of it has a windows CE 6 product key. I assume this means the core o/s is win ce 6 does anyone know how to hack this and make use of Win ce 6 side.

It has a lovely 5inch colour screen and keyboard, I know it has no wifi but it would be nice to run win ce apps like TCMP etc.

Pretty cool-looking device, like a real H/PC. Can't find anything on the Web about which class of processor it runs. Some CE devices will autoexecute any file renamed autorun.exe and placed in a folder with a number associated with the device's processor class. (For ARM-based devices, that number is usually 2577. For x86-based devices, it's 686.) But it's up to the OEM to include this capability in the OS of the device. See here for more info:

Looks like when it's connected to a PC, it's recognized as a mass storage drive. Not clear if the autorun method works or not, but it's worth a try: 1) create a folder in the root of the SD card and name it 2577; 2) copy a file explorer program like Total Commander or GSFinder+ in the \2577 folder; 3) insert the SD card in the Brain and wait to see if the file explorer program opens. (If it doesn't, try soft resetting the Brain [leaving the SD card in it] if there's a way to do that, and see if it executes then.)

No it didn't work I thought of autorun as well using Miopocket but that does nothing. The wiki talks of creating a folder called apps and putting your win ce app in there and I think renaming a file but I cant make sense of the translation...here it is perhaps you can make sense
of it.

Q & A of the most as it is written, even PocketPC and apps for HandheldPC does not operate.
However, it is but a few others to move. In this page I am going to write that way.
In addition, because some apps to squeeze the XTBook such capacity, I recommend the use of the SD card.

? Also, the file "," folder "", program name Yes enclosed in [].

The beginning of one step

To the under preparation of order to first display the app first to Add app / video] of the Brain.

1, select the connection to the connection orSD card to the main memory in the [COMPUTER] of the Brain, to connect to the PC.

2, since the installation of the software driver begins when you connect to the PC, and wait for a while. Notification or automatic playback in the lower right corner is come if successful, croton.

3, I open there since should have been connected with the name Removable Disk (X

4, click the right-click ? New ? Folder. I create a folder called "apps".

Exit is under preparation in this.

Additional apps

Contact k just make the [index (.bin)] of the dummy file to the name of the app the body of the contents of basically the folder [AppMain (.exe)].
Rare note or there is not moving app to be taken into the root directory of the SD card.

Recommended to in the first place a task management app for the Brain.

Is there something on the home screen of the device called "Apps"? I'm wondering if that's how user-added programs are accessed.

Yes there is an icon which I managed to get translated as 'Additional Apps'. When I press it it comes up with an error message in Japanese. Looking at the many You tube videos you press this icon to access installed third party apps. It mus some sort of batch file (dear me showing my age now and talking in DOS speak). It must be looking for a certain file/extension for it to run. What I have found so far is every CE app on the wiki has Appmain.exe and index.din (no typo) and you have to rename one or both of these and put them in some folder but no luck so far. will keep looking and will update if I get a breakthrough.

Made a search for apps to use in the Sharp Brain series of electronic dictionaries.
Found many links indicating a possibility in accessing the Windows CE base.

This link brings you to the various links to installing apps for Brain
https://www40.atwiki.jp/brainwiki/pages/35.html

This is the download link for Miopocket release 4 for Brain
http://otakan.ddns.net/miopocket/

My command of Japanese is very low, hence no being able to do any translations, maybe our friend stingraze could be of great help.

Hope this helps.

Hi. Good to know the Sharp Brain is on topic in Hpcfactor.

Please tell me which parts of the wiki and website you want translated. I'll try my best to translate it to English.

You helped us with it before, stingraze:

http://www.hpcfactor.com/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=17996&st...

I still have mine. Haven't poked around with it for a while though since there are so many files missing from the core OS, along with an unflushable registry.

I looked at Miopocket and it's very impressive. It does seem to lack an actual word processor, is that correct?
