I wonder why we never have seen any commercial Embedded Compact 7 devices hit the market...is there really no interest in them?

Given that Windows CE is being phased out I doubt even the commercial offerings are that attractive. In any case there is already an embedded version of Windows XP, which is still supported, so what is the point of EC?

Ah, but is there an embedded image of XP that will run on a generic ARM based processor? Say with 64mb of memory?

Doesn't the Sylvania SYNET7WIC netbook count as a "commercial" WEC 7 device?

I'm not sure...seems it is more like CE6 than CE7. I'm not one hundred percent sure that someone just didn't hack CE6 and change the nomenclature so that it erroneously reflects 7 instead of what it really is.

I mean can you tell me one thing that makes it CE7...something that isn't offered under CE6?

I made the experience on my chinese brand netbooks that a whole bunch of programs which ran under CE6
dont run/start anymore on this kind of EC7.

Well, there you go I guess...it is different, and not necessarily for the good.

I could live with EC7 if it had a modern full featured web browser that supported embedded video and graphics. I mean even the generic crappy web browser on the old Android 2.2 is far better than that with CE6.

And web browsing is important for me.
