Looks like a rebadged MP800 for the UK market. It even has the MobilePro logo in the corner of the case.

It is indeed! Some NEC stuff in the UK was branded as Packard Bell.

If you look closely, the sticker has the letters "ME" instead of "MP," with the name "EasyMate" below them. Clearly the shape of the area where the sticker goes wouldn't accommodate "EM" for the rebranding. (Maybe they should've acquiesced to the wrong order of the initials and called it the "MateEasy." )

The ME vs EM sticker has been something laughed about for a long time.

A rep from Packard Bell once stated that they just did it that way because they if they had tried to change it, it would have meant thousands of dollars for the reconfiguration of the plastic injection molds because the area where the label goes is depressed.

Bugger the ME logo, that box design is hardly dollar store gadget tier!

And the EasyMate 800 is a fairly rare handheld...nice collector's item.

Unfortunately though, as with the PV6000, there is a more powerful version of the same design, so I let it slide.
