| So I purchased an NEC Mobilepro 900 the other day, and I need to hook it up to Activesync (3.8). However, I keep getting the 678 error when I try to run the "get connected" wizard. So, what should I do?
Host is Windows 98 SE on a VMware VM, if that helps.

| Have you installed Dial-Up Networking 1.4? http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/patching/win98/
Have you touched the port speed settings in device manager?
Have you touched the port speeds on the device side?

| More likely...did you install the desktop Mobilepro 900 USB drivers that are needed for ActiveSync?
Easy to check...plug in your Mobilepro and go to the hardware device manager and see if you have an "unrecognized" USB device in the listing...assuming you are trying to sync with a Windows XP desktop...

| Ah, I realized that 98 doesn't have the USB drivers, so I'll use my XP physical machine instead (Q1).
I'll tell you how that turns out.
