Dear all,

I have an Industrial PC having OS (Windows CE 3.0) on which their is a run-time application of embroidery machine.

This application have two options to insert new design:
1- Portable Floppy Drive connected via USB Port (B-Drive is define for this in Application)
2- Com Port is also available in PC (C-Drive is define for this in Application)

I attach USB Flash Drive but it gives error "Drive not Found".

I want to use USB Flash Drive in place of Floppy Drive.

Please guide me.

Thanks

Regards,

Rehan

You can only do this if:
The USB Drive is FAT or 32 and you should really try and use a < 2GB drive
The Windows CE BSP has a correctly implemented USB 1.1 implementation of HCI
The Windows CE image has the Windows CE 3.0 USB stack on it
The Windows CE image has the necessary volume drivers on it for UFD's

Does a USB keyboard work (for example)?

It sounds like you have no way to get to the Windows CE shell, nor is there any command-line interface. In other words, you're stuck in the device's built-in application on the screen. Is that correct? (If you could access either of these then you might be able to get past the application it's booting into and install a third-party USB mass storage driver.)

Other possibilities: does the device have an SD or CF or PC card slot? Or does it have a cable to connect it to a PC? There may be ways to access the file system through these to do the same things I mentioned above.

Maybe if you have a name or model number of this device we can find more information about it online.

I wonder if it is an x86 machine...perhaps he could enter the bios and change the boot order to the USB and then make a bootable flash drive...

I really have no idea...you might try a PL2303 USB/serial adapter on the com port, but it seems you really need to figure out how to install the drivers you need for any mass storage device...and that means getting some type of command prompt running to copy files. Maybe a USB floppy would give you some boot options...
