Not sure how persistent it is, cuz it just happened again. Same fix solved it, but I gotta wonder now how long it'll last.

Too bad we never had a firmware flash for the thing...we could have updated the info in it to resolve the issue.

Interesting. Just this weekend, I fired up the TinyBook and saw that the date had reverted to the past. Did the workaround and it has remained persistent so far. And the TB battery still had juice so it wasn't a dead battery issue.
