| Hello all! It has been quite some time since I last posted on this wonderful website. About 4 years ago the awesome people here helped me get my Jornada 720 on the world wide web. For the past few years my Jornada's screen has had trouble staying on so I thought it was time to get another device. I purchased a Netbook Pro from the fine folks at usedhandhelds.com and it came in this past week. I was hoping that ya'll could inform me of a good word processer for the device as the included wordpad is not as fully featured as I would like. I have installed the trial of TextMaker, and while it is fully featured it runs quite slowly. It takes a few moments for the program to register my key presses. Might you all be able to point me in the direction of a speedier word processer? I am also looking for a suite of apps that will just make the device similar to the Jornada 720 in terms of usability. That puppy had all kinds of stuff baked into it!.

| You probably need to get a newer version of Textmaker. Softmaker Office 2010 has significant improvements in options and speed, my favorite being .docx compatibility.
Go to the Softmaker website and download the free trial and see how it works. |

I just received a Cisco Aironet 350 card in the mail. It installed fine on the netbook pro, now I am just trying to figure out how to get online with it. I downloaded Opera Mini, but when I type in a webpage it states that it is unavailable. What is the best web browser to use on the netbook pro? Any help is greatly appreciated.

| Opera Mobile 8.65 was the last one that worked I believe, but it is incredibly out of date. That Aironet card will only work with WEP encryption which is obsolete, you're better off trying an ethernet card as at least that is secure, as long as you can get to the LAN ports on your router. |

| Anyone who wants to do anything serious online with their kit?
I would recommend a CE 6 netbook to the OP as those often have 802.11g built-in, much less of a faff.

| Am I mistaken, or is Softmaker 2010 for Windows CE (4.2 and above) no longer for sale?

| Ah. Thanks, Rich. On ebay, usedhandhelds is selling NIB Psion Netbooks for $99 or BO. Thing is, they've been poorly stored in some warehouse so their lid is damaged. Price is right, but I dunno...
