| The other day, I got a Casio (Pocket ) Word Processor with a H/PC like form factor.
It's called Casio Pocket Word PW-1000 from 1988
It was used to type in word documents, and transfer it to bigger word processors for printing etc. (I think )
It has a RAM card slot on the side.
Operates on 3x CR2032 batteries (9V in total )
It's the first time I've seen one of these types.

| Pocket Word? Ooh, sounds like a lawsuit. Microsoft introduced a word processor for Windows CE eight years later and gave it the same name. Or did Casio get special licensing privileges with the A-10? |

Haha, you're right. Which is the rightful owner, Microsoft right, since they had Word first?

I'm not sure what OS it has, if it even has an OS or not... It's more like a digital diary than a real PDA.

| Thought it's bigger, the Tandy/Radio Shack WP-2 seems like s similar device. Did anybody ever play with one of those?

| Tandy/Radio Shack WP-2 does indeed seem a similar device for its use.
I think Tandy can write more lines than my Casio PW-1000 though. :-)

| But barely. The WP-2 had remarkably chintzy screen real estate. One of the main reasons I got rid of it, I think. Great keyboard, though. Like the WP-2, the PW-1000's screen can't do fonts, bold, italic, etc--is that right?

| Ah, cripes, I didn't see that. Now I can't even edit it since CE Geek's post has emblazoned it forever

Yes, you're right, but since this is a word processor (wa-puro ) it can do things like text decoration I think... I have to play with it a little more.

| The WP-2 used to put text such as <i> to denote italics, etc. I think you had to do italics with a menu drop-down; you couldn't even use ctrl-i.
I also remember trying to share WP-2 files via serial cable with my Leading Edge Model D--several days of my life I'll never get back Though I did get the WP-2 to run its text on the LE screen; it just wouldn't copy to a file on my lovely 5 1/4" 360K disks.

| Neat, isn't that the grandfather to the Casio Boss line? |
