Extracting cab files from Windows exe installers on a Mac

I just discovered an Mac app called File Juicer that is designed to extract image files from PDFs. One other thing is can do is extract other files types from exe packages, such as the Windows installers for HPC software. This provides a possible method for Mac users to get hold of those precious .cab files and install HPC programs directly on their HPCs. It doesn't work with every .exe installer but my success rate so far is about 50%

WinRAR can do this on some installer files as well from my experience.

For Mac I always use Cabextract... It works flawlessly on Windows cab files

Work in a public school system and you have no choice but to be a Mac guy. Still have all my Clarisworks CDs. Way back then my personal home computer was an Amiga. It had better games than the Mac even though the screen resolution was a weird one. But those were when I was young and still believed in mass pirating and "spreading the wealth."

Amazing how one's perspectives change as they mature.

Claris Home Page is still one of the simplest HTML editors out there for basic web page design. And it was nice that 1 CD could be used in a Mac or PC.

I loved Clarisworks 4.0 for Windows, except for the weird bug that you couldn't paginate past 99 pages. 10mb install, that was impressive.

I've also had some luck with Keka (Mac App store - Free). Thanks for File Juicer and Cabextract, those are new to me.
