I was given a brand new Nokia D211, but I'm unsure what to do with it beyond using its WIFI capabilities. I downloaded the drivers, so at least I have them ready to go. Is there any SMS software out there? I could see myself using it for that and that alone. I have numerous devices it can work on running WinCE 3.0 (will test it on others as well for fun).

Any suggestions on software or what I could / should do with this card?

If you got a brand new one, doesn't the CD come with the application with SMS software? I assumed it did according to this:

http://www.hpcfactor.com/reviews/hardware/nokia/d211/

Or maybe the SMS works only with a GPRS data connection and not over wifi?

Hey Rich, thanks for the reply. It didn't come with the software. The card is new, but it came from a company that had a ton and I surmise someone needed the actual CD at one point or another. Any clue where I could download the SMS software if it exists online?

I was looking at the pdf file for the card here, the full version, not the WinCE version we have here on the site.

https://www.nokia.com/en_int/phones/sites/default/files/user-guides/...

But page 46 of this is pretty explicit...the SMS does not work over wifi, and none has ever that I know of...

WIFI and cellular data are two different things, so I'm not expecting the card to send SMS over wifi. I have a SIM that I've installed for GPRS (email only) and hopefully SMS functions if I can find a copy of the software. Is it included in the drivers you think? I downloaded them from HPCFactor but haven't had the time to install them.

I just extracted the cab file and the sms software is part of it. I tried to run it on my MP900 but got an error telling me that the card was not inserted. It appears to be a stand alone executable.

I didn't check to see if any registry entries are required for it, but I attached it here for you to take a look at.

Awesome Rich, thanks a ton for your help. I'm knee deep in chores today but I'll definitely pull out the MP900 tomorrow and give it a go.

Is this the file in the HCL or is it something we should add to the HCL?
