I need a pickup too, to haul my dirt bike to the desert during the winter months
(and to pick it up from my brother's place, since he has had to haul it for me when we go
), and to haul some of the junk out of my garage. My girlfriend has one that belonged to her mother before her mother passed, but it's in Illinois. We're trying to figure out how and when we can drive it out here - we've been trying for three years.
I'm doing the opposite right now. I just bought my first brand new car right at the end of 2016, so for the first time in my life I'm making car payments. Big adjustment all around too - after driving nothing but Honda cars the past 37 years, I broke tradition because I wanted to buy an EV. So I became one of America's first owners of the Chevrolet Bolt EV.
(Had to do something quickly in any event, with my 2003 Civic, which I'd been driving for 9 1/2 years, having over 350,000 miles on it and down to running on one cylinder.
) I truly love this new car, though. It drives like a dream, goes from 0-60 faster than a Porsche 911, and has a range of 220-250 miles on one charge.
(Important because charging stations are still hard to find in some areas.
)
I see I'm not the only one who actually liked the music of Karen and Richard Carpenter.
