Hello,

I have a question. I am thinking of scanning WiFi networks in my area to just see what's out there, and was wondering if there's WiFi scanning software like MiniStumbler that works for Sigmarion 3 / CE 4.x +.

I know that Windows Mobile had its own settings where you could see the WiFi networks via the integrated WiFi etc., but I am looking for one that uses PRISM chipset. If anyone knows one, I would be very happy if you could tell me the name etc.

I will test if MiniStumbler works on my setup too.

Does MiniStumbler not work on Sig?

If the cab doesn’t install:
You could either inflate the cab on Windows
https://www.hpcfactor.com/scl/2052/Unknown_or_not_specified/MSCEInf/version_2.6
Or
Use this tool to suppress the CAB CPU check in the sig3

Thanks for the tip. I don’t remember if MiniStumbler worked on Sigmarion 3 or not. I sort of remember trying it long time ago, without success, but I will try it out and see if it will work.

May I sidetrack a bit here… is there any way we can get to make use of the A1 - A10 hardware keys on the top right corner of the Sigmarion 3?

Not really sure, but if we can intercept key (in this case the key input from A1-A10) we can do something with it, like a shortcut to something. There might be a keymapper for Sigmarion 3 somebody made, but I don't know if it exists or not.

I haven’t personally tried this program but may be worth a shot for remapping those keys

Also : @stingraze I hope it works ! Fingers crossed

@roychanyl

I got the software to work, and seems like you can get the keys from A1-A10 (It recognizes as OEM key).
Here's some photos of it in action, but I have to figure out how to map it to other keys.

Update:

I installed the WLI-CF-S11G's driver from BUFFALO which is for ARM Handheld PC 2000 (Windows CE 3.0). The driver seemed to install fine, but when I insert the card, no lights come on.

I think I will try one of those general driver I used to use back in the day that supports PRISM driver.
MiniStumbler didn't run on Sigmarion 3 because it seems to be missing some .dll files.

Thank you. I will be trying to test out the WL100NDS driver and other drivers that seem to work for Sigmarion 3.

Again, I'm not really an expert - I'd probably try these drivers too

Also re: ministumbler missing dll files

What does https://www.hpcfactor.com/scl/1398/Hou_Ming/Executability_Check/version_1.03
say?

@torch thanks for the links. I will install Windows CE .NET 4.x version of the driver.

I will try to run the Exectutabilty_Check soon and get back to you.

Also, on an unrelated issue, I found these three from cmonex's site

https://web.archive.org/web/20080112044759/http://izemize.fw.hu/hpc.php
Try
pocketwinc (free version only - the nicest wifi scanner for hpc2000)
pocketwarrior (free wifi scanner)
Ministumbler many people install the wrong version. this is the right one! (arm)

^I don't know if she modified ministumbler but may be worth looking into

I tried installing the Windows CE.NET 4.x driver, but it didn't work.
I will probably make sure the card works on my Zaurus, and see if it's the hardware issue or not.

Thanks for the WiFi scanners.
