Hi all,

Recently acquired a used HP-200LX 2MB to enhance my
pocket/handheld computers collection, but I found it
quite difficult to move files into the 200LX due to
legacy OS format incompatibility with Win 11.

First thing I try to achieve is to create a CF RAM disk,
but I found out that DOS5.0 cannot "see" anything
bigger than 512MB (?) and the machine is very picky
on the CF cards. Some HP200LX related sites suggest
using a program "acecard3.com" to overcome this.

I bought a 64MB SanDisk SDCFJ CF card, and when I
insert it into the 200LX, it cannot be seen by the machine.
However, I was able to do "fdisk100", found it and format it.
Still doing anything with a: (such as "a:", "dir a:" ....etc) is flaky.
It will work but usually requires a few attempts.
Probably because the slow circuitries at that era.

However, the biggest problem is that my Win11 PC cannot
recognize the above fdisk100 formatted CF drive, and the
HP200LX cannot see the Win11 formatted CF drive.
This should be a very common novice user issue, and
is there any solution to solve it? Please feel free to
explain and share how do you work around this.

Thanks,
fy789.

Like you said, I've read that acecard3 driver enables larger cards like 4GB SDHC / CF etc. to be recognized.

Japanese site with some info including Zaurus & HP200LX http://ayati.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2011/02/kizsdhchp200lx-.html
Download the driver here: http://mizj.com (S.U.P.E.R Site! by Michel Bel)

Bonus: Compatible flash cards / CF cards that work with HP100LX / HP200LX

Please proceed at your own risk, as it may erase data etc.

P.S. I've also read that using FDISK100 to format the CF will make things work for HP200LX.
