| cmonex, kind of you to offer your help.
I have version 3.2 of Netfront - so how do I hack it?
I am using a J720. |

| Wow.. u'r the first person I know who slams ZA..
My NF3.0 is a full version.. still no go I'm afraid.. |
|
|
|
| I gave it a try, thanx for the hard work guys. I could not test it with dial up at this time, however, i used it for reading html files stored in my compact flash, and I can say for sure that it much faster in response than 3.0 which required nearly a minute just to load up...
Unforunately some menus at "browser settings" are not visible since it is clearly designed for larger displays in height... Nydidot is my friend
Btw, if anybody needs netfront 3.0 you can find it posted @ yahoo! group. |

|
|
| BTW have tried Jeode VM and it installed nicely into my J720, but unfortunately it didn't play the java code from my internet bank - so back to square 1.
Netfront 3.3 - no java.
Netfront 3.2 - will not play on my J720 without hacking (don't know how to).
Netfront 3.0 - trial version has no java.
PersonalJava - won't play together with PIE or ftxBrowser.
What are the yahoo group called where you have the Netfront 3.0?

Geee, I thought there was only one for the j7xx!
Anyway, you can find here,
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Jornada720/
search through the posts and you will find one named "Get netfront" or so.
Sorry, I do not think I can post the link in public...

and you're the first person who never heard of complaints about ZA
oh, if it is a full version... maybe try jeode for IE (don't forget to register the plugin by clicking on it in the start menu or whatever ) |

well, as i said i didn't hack it perfectly yet. i'll have a try at it soon again. but it should work, as 3.0 and 3.3 works!...
the current hack status: it will start and run fine, but won't load any page. 3.3 behaved like this when i used a wrong cellcore.dll, so i think that will be the solution. |

did you register the jeode plugin into IE?
if you did so and it still doesn't work,.... hmm, would i be able to test the site for you? if it requires login info, that's a no go, but if not, i'll be glad to try. |
|
|
|
| cmonex, yes i did register the plugin, but got an error when trying to execute the banks java script?
have since tried Netfront 3.0 (version from Alex) with Java, but this java in NF 3.0 seems to be uncompatible with the language required from my bank.
Have also tried Minimo 0.010, but this doesn't play on the J720.
Think I will have to wait for a hacked version of NF 3.2 or 3.3.
comonex, i do have a NF 3.2 full PPC version - is there a lot of hexediting to do or just a few additional .dll's to install?

| maybe your bank requires a full fledged java 2.... then nothing is going to help, it wont work on any pda...
request a simpler version of the site maybe they'll listen, i heard about very nice examples..
still it is worth a try with 3.2. you will definitely need to do a little hexediting, and i still didnt have time to figure out the problem with 3.2... probably just that cellcore.dll. i'll have time soon. |
|
|
|
| cmonex, think you may be right there. checked minimum requirements to the bank: JVM 5 Build 3805/3810 or Sun Java version JRE 1.3.1_03.
so don't think NF 3.2 will work either |

zonealarm is just a piece of shit. speaking from experience
Well, she is right.
When I used zonealarm... (in other words, when I used Windows... ) hibernating would cause the program to be permanently screwed. No idea why, just poor design. Later, I got a better firewall, forgot the name. With dsl, my houses gateway has a good enough firewall to prevent all the Windows pc's in my house from getting viruses. In other words, a Linux machine using ipchains works the best. Edited by ProgramSynthesiser 2005-11-28 9:49 PM
