BSQUARE POWER HANDHELD PASSWORD HELP!!URGENT

Ok i have tryed the new filesys.exe... its the same as the first. it didnt work. sorry :/ (but many thanks that for the gwes.exe!)

Part 1 worked. But Part 2 don't work. Messagebox after start PASS1.EXE is "Sorry, my patch was crap!".
(Control Panel) - (Password) writes "You must enter your password to change these settings" and I cannot set new password.

it's ok if it didn't work, it's not a trivial patch, so will need some more experimenting... but long term it would be very useful to be able to reset the password thanks for testing it. maybe we can continue testing on MSN

p.s.: i'm wondering if i could just call the docbin.dll password lock and write functions with the right parameters, to reset the password stored in flash (and check how to tell wince it is reset).

please,tell me how to copy the GSWE.exe to \window on the bsquare(overwrite original one)?????

it always displays:"can not copy"GWES.exe":access is denied;make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use".

just use an other filemanager... for example total commander.

OK here is program to reset password

it's not tested on bsquare phh yet, but the method works on my nec 900c (i have a 900c here to test on).

the original patch didn't work only because filesys.exe cannot be overwritten (gwes.exe can). it looks like it is overwritten but the system ignores the new version and uses the one in ROM.

so the new program just patches filesys.exe straight in ram then runs code to reset the password.

just run the exe and see what happens, if it said the patch worked then go to control panel and see if you can set new password.

the only reason it wouldn't work would be that i was tired and changed the addresses wrong (nec 900c has different addresses to patch).

Ok Cmonex, it works... but not perfect. the password isn't set anymore i think... because: no login and i can set the ownerinfo. BUT i can't set a new pass. it still asks for the old.

have a test:
1. gwes.exe it could work well .
2. pass1.exe it could not work.
3.pass_bsquarephh.exe it could cancel login ,and i also could change owner.
but couldnt reset psw in contral panel ,and after i have a coolboot reset, all the psw login appear again.

thought your way, i finallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly reset the psw.
1. start welcome page(welcomevizard.exe) , in no.5 ,you set a new psw
2. go to contral panel , start password tools, then ,you may set a new psw,or make it clear.
after coolboot, psw doesnt asking anymore.
