Congratulation, cmonex!

p.s.:run welcomevizard.exe-->security-->new password...... ok!!!!

ah that will explain it.

on the 900c, the SetPassword function in filesys.exe is all you need, it fully resets password because 900c only stores the password in RAM. i can reboot and it won't ask for a login anymore, and i can set a new password, etc. etc.

the bsquare's SetPassword function is identical in filesys.exe, it still stores password in RAM. but we know the bsquare also saves it in flash, so i was assuming there is some extra function somewhere else that will flush the password in the flashrom if you manage to run that function after clearing the password in ram using my patch (pass_bsquarephh.exe).
sounds like you found the extra function, chinamao

Great
I'm going to try the patch as soon as I come home!

How would the world be without you, Cmonex?

BTW, It would be really great if PHH custom ROM building would be possible, so please take my help into account!

Hi cmonex!!
The extra function that you said is SETPASSWORDSTATUS.

no, not SetPasswordStatus, because it is still not bsquare specific in filesys.exe..

the extra function i meant calls docbin to access the flash

for example password.cpl LoadLibrary's docbin.dll to achieve this

but same for wwsecurity.dll and wwfinish.dll which are called by the welcomewizard

news... someone's been testing for me but more testers would always be welcome!! especially now with a new version of my new rom dumper program (see below) waiting to be tested! if you want to help test, PM or email (contactchan at freemail.hu) me your msn or icq or yahoo contact address. it would be appreciated a lot!

i've managed to write a program that dumped part of the rom (NAND flash) - goal is to get a full rom dump before going ahead with flashing a custom OS. some more testing will be needed to achieve full rom dump

also, just for fun - the password is stored as an MD5 hash of the password string (unicode!!).

P.S: yes i know the OS image has been dumped from a RAM dump but that's not the same as a ROM dump.

(you can still find me on IRC, irc.freenode.org #hpcdev channel.. or in email)
