Great! I was trying to install Skype 1.1.0.6, but I had to do it with ActiveSync. As my notebook does not have a serial port and my Jornada cradle does not have USB port either, I tried to use Ethernet connection via crossover cable to sync. The problem is that ActiveSync only lists COM1, COM2, COM3, Infrared, and USB as the options. How can I enable a sync using a direct Ethernet connection between J720 and Win2K PC?
If you still had the serial cable, you could always buy a USB to RS232 cable (You don't need to, but it might be easier). Or, you could get the newer J710, 720, 728 dock and USB cable combined to connect via USB.
I don't have serial either, so at the moment i'm limited to HPC2000 USB connectivity, but I'm very tempted by those serial converters ...

Sorry for resuming another old post...
i've read several post about installing skype on jornada but i need some help....

first of all... this is the only skype i've found ( but its for sig3!! does it work anyway?)
i've tried to install the skype found on cmonex's site (great site! thanks forever), so i've intalled the cab, copied the ddls on skype directory and overwritten the .exe
but there was another passage in the guide that've not understood:it says that i've to install first winceload to be able to install the cab... but i've installed the cab without it!!
so, after i had completed all of the steps, trying to launch skype it says skype.exe not found
later i've so installed redgear bud the problem remains...

i've read somewhere that i can use skype account also with IM+ (?) but i've not found any compatible version (i'm interested only in txt messaging)
could anyone help me?

Try version 2.5.
I have not tested it yet.

Skype's protocols were just changed within the last year or so. I doubt you'll find working Skype software for the Jornada 720 at this point, and even if you do, it's not going to work for long. Here's a bit of information on the subject, and bear in mind that the webOS app was more recent than anything you'll find for the 720. https://pivotce.com/2017/11/10/skype-finally-axed-for-webos/
