Italy is included in the Western Europe maps. I will upload these soon.

Captin, many thanks for the maps posted 19th March but unfortunately I have encountered three "challenges". The first entry , 100587437/crack_uitleg.rar, does not seem to be a valid url . It is in a different style of identifier to all the following entries. Is it just a spurious intruder which should be ignored? Part9 seems to be duplicated as the 9th and 10th of the following files, 100628438 and 100634271. I have just retained the first rather than overwriting it with the second but is that the correct thing to have done? the downloading software seems to disregard the numbers quoted above as identifiers.
The final problem for me is the format. I think the expanded files are for use with TomTom software. I was really looking for Maps for Canada in the original Nav-Cam 7700 format as previously posted for the US only. Any chance of those, please?
Many thanks, RayW

DOWNLOADED ALL MAPS ...AM GOING TO CHECK IT OUT
THANKS CAPTAIN
Yes the maps are for tomtom, unfortunatly I cant find any other maps made for the Nav-Cam software. (I only have the software for the Nav-Cam 2007). My suggestion would be to install TomTom 6 (mine) and the maps will work. TomTom is far better than the original software, hence the starting of this thread in the first place.
Here are the maps for Italy with the major roads of Western Europe.
Many thanks for your very prompt reply Captin. Sorry to have bothered you over the first file. I have now downloaded it successfully by posting it into the address box. I ought to have tried that before but all the other files downloaded by just clicking on them. When it did not respond to clicking I just assumed that the fact that the first entry was in blue and not green indicated a problem with it.
I am sure you are correct about switching to the TomTom software but my first attempt was unsuccessful. It just loaded a TomTom screen and would not go any further. The idea of having the TomTom software and its maps on an SD card appeals but so far I have not succeeded in persuading the 7700 look beyond its own memory. Another reason for not trying harder is that I find the camera warnings with the original software very useful. I think that in the US most states use speed cops in cars so that is probably not a consideration there. I know there are other sources of UK camera data for TomToms so I will look around for that.
I think the original route map providers and the venders of my device are both in administration so I shall have to make the effort to change anyway.
Thanks again for your help.

Hi RayW
If you have any success with finding speed camera updates please let me know I have spoken to Evesham.com and they can not, or will not say if they are going to renew subscriptions or not, very helpful I don't think.

I have not tried yet SPJ, but I am under the impression that updates for the Evesham/AA Navigator can still be downloaded. Go to www.nav-cam.com, select the UK 7700 and click downloads in the top right corner. This leads on to a requirement to sign in and an invitation to pay £30 for updates for one year.
I am not too worried about my camera data base being out of date but I suspect the camera software just stops working if the subscription is not renewed. This was not made clear in the advertisements and the Advertising Standards Authority instructed Evesham to change their ad but by that time I believe that company was already in administration. However, I think an associated, similarly named, company is still trading.
An alternative source of camera updates for some devices is www.pocketgpsworld.com. That seems to require a £19 annual subscription unless you report new cameras when it may be waived. This is specifically stated not to support the AA Navigator but it does a range of TomTom products which could be a another reason to change. Unfortunately, in my case it is not proving quite as easy as Captin found it.
I use pocketgpsworld for files to use in tomtom, they do have several generic download formats, like CSV if you have a way of converting them into the format the nav-cam software wants.
But to be honest converting the unit to tomtom is quite simple.
Get a spare SD card. Download and unpack the tomtom files, copy the unpacked folder onto the root of the SD card, then do the same with the maps.
Hard reset the nav-cam unit and away you go.
then you can download and unpack the camera files and copy these into the map folder, run tomtom and tell it to warn you when approacing the camera POI's.

Thanks Captin, I have done that but after a hard reset it just ignores the card and boots exactly as normal.
Just to check. When using ActiveSync and I look at the card in the Nav-cam I see:- \SDMMC\MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe, as an example. In the \SDMMC\MobileNavigator Folder there are two folders which are empty being CONTACTS and LOGGING and three which have files in them, ITN, Voices and ZIP, and four files in addition to the exe file, Navigator.cfg ttmobile.bif Current Map.dat and data.chk. The map folders are at the same level as MobileNavigator.
I assume that in theory, just as a booting PC looks for removable disks before it goes to the C drive this device is supposed to look at the SD card first and not reach its own memory if the above files are present? However as that does not seem to be working for me I have tried other things.
I tried changing the installed \MyFlashDisk\MobileNavigator\Mobile Navigator.exe to .bak and copied the TomTom file of the same name to that folder. I then copied the remainder of the TomTom MobileNavigator folder to \MyStorage. This did show promise because a TomTom screen did open by using "Navigator" on the Nav-cam desktop but I could not get it to go any further. In any case it is not nearly as convenient to have to re-name files to switch systems as just putting an SD card in.
I can only assume your device is somehow configured differently to mine but many thanks for your help anyway.
