Jason,

My fisrt nav cam went up and was replaced under warranty with the 7700. ( it ran tom tom great!

My question is how do I get the tom tom to run on the 7700? I've read the threads and I must be missing something.

I have the whole tom tom program and the map folder on a 2 gig SD card.

I'm assuming I some how use "actvesync" to modify the internal program on the 7700?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone have a suggestion for a Nav Cam 7700 that has no images in the Navigator, and Nav.exe file won't open!? My computer tells me that it is NOT a valid Win32 application! And ActiveSync doesn't work...does not recognize the unit!

Bought this one 'new' from ebay, but Nav-Cam will NOT warranty it!!! Nice way to treat a customer, huh?!

Thanks for any help!!

Bruce

For those who need it here is a link to the original Nav-Cam 2007 program and maps.
You will need a 1gb SD card, unpack the file and copy the folder to the root of the SD card.

Warning: 636 meg file on slow speed connection.

Here is the TomTom 6 file but NO MAPS.
Unpack and copy the folder onto the root of a 2GB SD card.

Here are links to the North America maps.
Use winrar to unpack the files (just tell it unpack the first one it will find the rest) then copy the folder to the root of a 2gb SD card with the program.

Warning: 1.3gb (split into 50Mb files) on slow speed connection.

Hi all,
I have a navcam 7000 which looks to be similar and using same configuration but I cannot make it go to the WinCE screen. Replacing the mobilenavigator.exe with regedit.exe doesn't work - it goes to the welcome screen but nothing starts when accessing navigator. Loading the whole mobilenavigator folder on the SD gave same result.
I also tried using mobileregistryeditor to change welcome.exe to explorer.exe in init but this makes the unit boot with no display at all. I tried changing a few more registry keys with same results.
If anyone knows a way please let me know

I also have a problem; the tomtom software starts up fine but it doesn't see the maps. On the "select map" page, it says "no maps found".

Any ideas?

TIA

As long as the maps are in a folder on the root of the SD card, tom tom should find the maps.

But it all depends on the version of tom tom 6 (some found on the net need specific versions of the maps)

The tom tom I have (made available in this thread) and the maps (also available in this thread) work perfectly together. I have also listed each map (with versions) that my tom tom works with (read earlier posts).

My tom tom works with the Nav-Cam 2007 (only unit tried by myself) but other people have said it works with other units (like the Nav-Cam 7700 and the maplin aytobe).

I have now got a sat-nav unit built into my car and this tom tom works with that also.

Thanks for the info. I have a nav cam 2007 and downloaded your software and maps. I'm thinking that perhaps my file download of your maps got corrupted because after having the problem I located and downloaded (what I thought was going to be full north america but turns out to be only WI, IL & IN) and I'm able to pick up those states and not the rest of the USA.

Should I try to download the files again? WHat do you think will work?

Thanks again
