Well I did it Ordered my NEC Mobile Pro 900C today from Used Hand Helds
And got the email that the order had been confirmed. Now I just have to wait for it to arrive. Can’t wait to try it out and have something to finally check my emails when I am on the road.

Even found a case that is just the right size to transport it in when I’m traveling.

I got a case here a little while ago:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEC-MobilePro-Handheld-Case-OP-MPHH-CASE_W0QQitemZ220087456613QQihZ012QQcategoryZ3669QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem

It's new and is the original leather case offered by NEC for the MP 900(c).

I just got a 900c and I have to send it back because the USB slave port is broken off inside the unit. It depresses me.

dustbowl0407 where did you order yours from? I bought mine from UsedHandhelds since they seemed to be a reputable dealer of used hand helds.

Not to OT too badly, but since you mentioned usedhandhelds.com, are their nec 900c's in really good shape. I don't mind paying their higher price if I know I will get a machine that is not all scratched up. I like my stuff to look like new. (I don't know if that is too much to ask of a used hpc.) Is the screen and case scratch free on yours?

yes. The seller has actually been very gracious about it. I bought it on ebay. the reason i didnt buy it from usedhandhelds.com was because I couldnt afford to pay $400 for it. I only paid $200.

There are some good prices on eBay on 900Cs, but they are as-is. Glad you found a good seller.

Yea, I got lucky on that one. The problem with alot of 900c's on ebay is that they are given to employees by big companies, and you gotta know that they get beat up pretty bad. The one that was sent to me, for example, was from Astra-Zeneca. It will be another couple of weeks until I get a replacement, but I am just happy that I can return it and get another one. I cant wait.

I received the 900C I purchased from usedhandhelds.com a vew days ago.
It is in perfect shape! Just a few minor scratches on the case and none on the screen.
Everything works fine: with the linksys WLan card I got online in just a few minutes.
All the software that runs on my J728 also runs on the 900C.
I feel that the screen of the J728 is somewhat brighter than the 900C-screen.
In the middle it seems to be somewhat darker than at the edges.
However it doesn"t bother me. Some "fiddling-around" with the display-setting and I've found setting where it doesn't show (hardly) anymore.
What a great keyboard!
And also very handy that you can attach an USB-mouse or USB-memory-key to it.
Usedhandhelds.com also ships a CD with a lot of registered commercial and freeware software on it, for free!
The case they ship with it, however is a laugh! I threw it in the trashcan.
