Here at HPC:Factor we need your help!

Reviews are one of the pillars on which the site stands on and is an area that has been challenging to keep up-to-speed. Frankly we have too many things to review and not enough people to review them.

I'm looking for someone who can agree to writing on a regular schedule a review of either hardware or software. In the case of software reviews, often you will be able to keep the software you review.

In order to qualify you will need to have strong English language written skills, own an H/PC device, have the ability to capture screenshots and willingness to fairly review an application (not make it an opinion piece).

If you are interested, please Private Message me or drop me an email and we can discuss further.

Thanks!

I wondered when this would happen......I guess the rate should have been specified in the original post!

Not nothing CE Geek, the respect and admiration of your friends and peers!

Plus, if you contribute regularly, you can become a member of the perma-writing staff and can have a gold staff tag like the Stormy-one, as well as staff rights.

Thanks Dominic for your interest. As we are not a commerical website and we generate no income, there would be no cash payments for reviews. In most cases you would however be able to keep the software you review.

If you are still interested please Private Message me.

Very unlikely. There is no identifiable segment of the userbase, and if it is there, it is not of any significant size. To have such a section depend exclusively upon a single writer, and to devote administrative and editorial time to set it up and market it at a time whe we are looking to nurture and encourage general writers in the existing community... the benefits simply do not add-up I am afraid.

If I am wrong of course, I expect the community to let me know about it.

I was half joking, but okay. I guess it's quite a bit easier to get a whole bit of a website dedicated to mostly you when you're the only daughter of the site owner.

Edit:

Pssst. I have a new review on Brain Evolution coming out next week. Read it. Love it.

Hey.... "Careful now, you'll start saying dirty words. Word like Pock... Po... P... nope, can't do it, just can't bring myself to say it." What's the rule about highjacking threads?

yeah a little too much of hijacking going on these days

not that i'm against of going offtopic quite the contrary ..though, it seems like the site owner's family can do it more than others. "more equal". (joke of course!)

Hijack or benter, you decide

It is a serious point though, if there is scope for diversifying into other areas, it needs to be considered. Likewise the incentives for getting involved. In PPC land everything is shiney and new, that is the incentive. This clearly doesn't work here in the H/PC community - otherwise all the people who have ever promised to write something for the site would have done it, and we wouldn't be asking.

There is "something" which is putting people off of getting involved. I cannot identify what it is. Until then, there's no way we can hope to try and reverse the exodus of willing contributors.
