Site Help & Support - Forgotten Passwords & Account Deletion

We all have too many passwords that we have to remember these days, and occasionally we might stumble upon the log-in form and go completely blank. If that sounds like you, then don't worry, we we have an automated form through which you can request a password reminder be sent.

Password Reminder / Password Resetting

If you have forgotten your password, the first thing you should do is visit the password reset form here.

Simply fill in the registered user account email address and the system will automatically email you a reminder prompt for your log-in password. We strongly recommend that all users change their password after using this feature, as email is not a completely secure way to transmit sensative password data.

If after 12 hours you have not received an email from the system with a password prompt, please submit your details to the form a second time.
If after 48 hours you have receieved nothing from the system, please contact the HPC:Factor webmaster via the Contacts page. Do NOT post a request onto the HPC:Factor forums requesting adminstrator assistance. YOU WILL BE FORMALLY CAUTIONED and probably ignored.

If you no longer control the email address which you registered the account with, and there for are unable to use the automated account reminder system. Please contact the HPC:Factor webmaster via the contacts page.
We will require written confirmation that you are the registered account holder, as well as the email address which is now defunct. HPC:Factor will only reset the account if we received a bounce error from the original registered email address.

Account Deletion

It is your right as a HPC:Factor forum member to request the deletion of your account from the forums system, along with your contact details.

HPC:Factor will honor all legitimate requests for termination of a user account provided:

1. We receive the request from the registered email address associated with the account
2. The user provides us with the password associated with the user account as proof that the account is their own
3. The user understands that the account deletion process is irreversable, and in order to make continued use of the HPC:Factor forums system and/or registered site services the user will need to re-register

Due to the nature of web forums, and the requirements on the structure afforded by linear thread orders, HPC:Factor is not able to delete all associated posts to a particular user. As posting onto the HPC:Factor forums was done so into the public domain, we reserve the right to maintain the consistency of the forums.
If there are specific threads that a particular user has issue with, please contact an administrator to discuss requirements for removing the post from the live board. Please be aware that in the event an administator agrees to remove a specific post from live board, HPC:Factor will NOT undertake similar actions to remove the same post from our backup archives.
