At the request of a newsgroup user HPC:Factor has created a patch that allows the Xircom CWE-1120 and CWE-1130 802.11b WiFi NIC to work using the built-in Cisco Aironet drivers that shipped with the hp Jornada 700 series.

The patch allows Xircom users to forgo the need to install the Xircom branded drivers into RAM, saving space. It also corrects some bugs that were being experienced by users who were forcing the Network adapter to use the Aironet driver.
With an install size of less than 3 KB the HPC:Factor patch may prove useful in the space limited environment of the Handheld PC. For more information see the CESD.
