Description

SpaceLeft is a program which aims to show the amount of free area of
flash cards which are inserted in (Compact) PC Card slots. SpaceLeft
is provided as a free software.

The features of SpaceLeft are as follows:

1) Small and simple

This program provides a very simple feature to show the free area.
This program occupies just 10 or more kilo bytes in program size. It
is so simple that it does not provides additional features such as
residing in the task tray.

2) Two choices, that is, exe file or control panel applet

You can choose from the two according to your preference.

3) Visual output

The usage ratio of storage is shown visually using bar graph.

4) Configuration for the PC Card folders

For European/Japanese Windows CE users, the folder name which
represents the PC Card is configurable.

5) No need for MFC

Because SpaceLeft does not use MFC. This makes SpaceLeft quite small.

System Requirements

How to install SpaceLeft

Note:
Registry usage of SpaceLeft has been changed at ver 2.1. For those
who had installed ver 2.0 or former had better to uninstall the
previous version prior to installing this version.

This package contains both control panel applet and independent
executable. Please choose among the two according to your preference.

1) Control panel applet (recommended)

As you can see an applet to show the amount of free area of main
memory, I insist that SpaceLeft should also be provided as a control
panel applet. I recommend the control panel applet version to those
who agree with me. The installed file is small enough (just over
10KB) to placed in \Windows, i.e. in main memory.

2) Independent executable

For those who do not wish to install additional software to main
memory can choose this independent executable version.

2.1 How to install SpaceLeft applet

By extracting files from the zipped archive, you can find the
following files. These files correspond to CPUs as follows:

sleftc.sh3.cab CE 2.0, SH3 CPU
sleftc.mips.cab CE 2.0, MIPS CPU
sleftcpo.mips.cab CE 3.0 Pocket PC, MIPS CPU

After copying the appropriate .cab file to any folder on your CE
device, double-tap to execute the file.

When installing to a P/PC, it is recommended to copy the appropriate
.cab file to the following folder. You can then execute the cab file
via the 'Start Menu' in your CE device.

\Windows\Start Menu
Execution of cab file will start installation. During installation,
you will be asked which folder to install SpaceLeft to. Do NOT change
the default target folder, otherwise SpaceLeft applet will not appear
in control panel.

2.2 How to install an independent executable of SpaceLeft

By extracting files from the zipped archive, you can find the
following files. These files correspond to CPUs as follows:

slefte.sh3.cab CE 2.0, SH3 CPU
slefte.mips.cab CE 2.0, MIPS CPU
sleftepo.mips.cab CE 3.0 Pocket PC, MIPS CPU

After copying the appropriate .cab file to any folder on your CE
device, double-tap to execute the file.

When installing to a P/PC, it is recommended to copy the appropriate
.cab file to the following folder. You can then execute the cab file
via the 'Start Menu' in your CE device.

\Windows\Start Menu
Execution of cab file will start installation. During installation,
you will be asked which folder to install SpaceLeft to. Please choose
ANY folder according to your preference

By the way, the following files are going to be installed through the

SpaceLeft.lnk (in a folder corresponds to an 'accesary' entry of
start menu)
Tillanosoft SpaceLeft(exe).unload (in \Windows)
Tillanosoft SpaceLeft(exe).dat (in \Windows\AppMgr)

In addition, the following registry entry will be created by the
