CESD-C-0029
Applies To:
- HPC2000
- Windows CE .net 4.0, 4.1, 4.2
- Windows CE 5.0
Overview:
After downgrading from ActiveSync 4.1 or 4.0 to ActiveSync 3.8.5004, when you
attempt to synchronise your device, you can only connect to the Windows CE Service
Communications manager process in the guest account.
More Info:
You may experience the inability to mount a partnership if the ActiveSync 4.1
installation leaves behind a Registration Utility Library in the System folder
on your PC.
NB: If you require instructions covering the process
of reverting to ActiveSync 3.8 from a 4.x client, see CESDS0093.
To restore Partnership Synchronisation you must delete the Windows CE Reigstry
Utility Library from the System Folder
- Uninstall all ActiveSync versions from your computer
- Open My Computer
- Navigate to:
c:\windows\system32
-or-
c:\winnt\system32
- Locate and delete the file
ceutil.dll
- Reinstall ActiveSync 3.8.5004
