Overview:
The Velo 500 and the Velo 1 with Windows CE 2.0 both support Microsoft Pocket PowerPoint. With a VGA card, you can present PowerPoint slides on an external monitor. In addition, you will be able to display the Velo screen -- for example, to show details in your business plan spreadsheets. In order to use VGA cards, you will need to install this VGA Card Software upgrade.
The Velo VGA Card Software supports Colorgraphic's Voyager card, which is available directly from Colorgraphic.
Just follow the installation instructions to download the VGA Card Software from this Web site to your desktop and Velo.
Installation Instructions
In order to use the Voyager VGA card you purchased for your Velo, you need to install this software (VGAcard.exe). You can download the software easily using the link below.
1. Follow the onscreen instructions to download the software to your PC.
2. Be sure you are using Windows CE Services 2.0 or later.
3. Dock your Velo and establish an active link to your desktop PC.
4. Copy the file (VGAcard.exe) to the \Windows\StartUp directory of your Velo.
- a. Double-click the Velo icon in the Mobile Devices window on your PC.
- b. Double-click the My Handheld Device icon.
- c. Double-click the Windows folder.
- d. Drag the VGAcard.exe file into the StartUp folder.
- e. Close the folders.
5. On your Velo, reset the device by running the Reset application.
- a. Click START in the lower left side of the screen on your Velo.
- b. Select Programs.
- c. Select Velo Applications.
- d. Click RESET.
- e. A message appears asking, "Do you want to reset your Velo now?" Select Yes.
6. Install the Voyager VGA card software included with your VGA card and follow the installation instructions.
WARNING: If you are using a separate PC modem card and not the internal modem built into your device, you may have difficulty connecting to an Internet Service Provider, and/or the following error message may appear:
"Your modem could not be found. Please make sure that the fax modem is accessible and no other program is currently using it."
There is a conflict with your PC modem card device and the Philips software that runs your VGA device. The solution is to move the VGAcard.exe file out of the StartUp folder into a "Holding" folder. Then run the Reset application. You need to move the VGAcard.exe from the "Holding" folder into the StartUp folder each time you use your Voyager VGA card. Move it out when you have finished using the Voyager VGA card.
