Overview:
Windows CE Feature Packs are sets of Windows CE components that help developers build new device capabilities into their new or existing Platform Builder 5.0 designs.
The Windows CE 5.0 Networked Media Device Feature Pack is not a stand alone product; it requires the developer to have Platform Builder 5.0 installed, and it adds new components to the library available within the tool set. Some of the components added will help develop devices that can play media that is available through a network and other components will help build Digital Video Recorders capabilities into devices.
Networked Media Device Scenarios that this feature pack enables:
The core scenario for an NMD is to be able to playback on the TV some of the content stored on the PC (or other Media Server). More specifically:
Unprotected music content: ripped CDs
Unprotected video content: camcorder content, home videos and similar
Purchased commercial content: MSN music or Napster tunes, Cinema Now movies and similar
Photos
The DVR engine allows the device to record on a hard Drive incoming MPEG-2 streams and provides API for traditional playback trick modes.

To install the Windows CE 5.0 Networked Media Device Feature Pack, you must have administrative privileges.

CE_1.cab
setup.exe
WinCE_NMD_FP.msi
WinCEPB50-Product-Update-Rollup-<CPU-Type.msi>
2. Run setup.exe and follow the onscreen instructions.
