Hello everyone,

I recently had to format and reinstall Windows 2003, which had been running for many years. I had been using my trusty Philips Nino 300 along with ActiveSync 3.8. Now, however, I cannot remember what I did in order to get my Nino connected to the PC.

ActiveSync says something about a RAS error, and the serial port resources being unavailable. If anyone could help me, or point me to a webpage, I would be very grateful.

Thanks,
Matt.

Ensure that you haven't got any hyperterminal instances up and that there are no other tray services running which make use of the serial port. Do ensure that your firewall software has exceptions for AS - if you haven't completed the SP2 setup the firewall will be locked down.

Lastly, ensure that your serial ports exist in device manager.
