Hi -I'll be interested to read a write up on this - it looks interesting! However, prior to buying my Jornada 728 and MobilePro 900c I thought about buying one of the small Sony VAIO half screen height Laptops.' - However, the ability to keep Contacts, Calender, E-mail and Tasks Synced between Desk Top PC and Handheld Device is my main use for an HPC/ or small PC. A small PC would also have to have a battery lfe at least as good as the MobPro.
I was unable to find any Laptops (not even those as small as the Sony/ MobilePro) that have a slave USB socket and thus they will not Syncronise with ActiveSync. - Has anyone experience of Syncing Laptops with PC's in same manner as an HPC will?.
Thanks.

I usually use the wifi or cabled network card to sync my notebook with my desktop. It is pretty easy to set up and once you get it set up it is as easy as the usb cable.

huh. Now if I could just find that $999 I misplaced... 8)

This could help explain, along with the eee-pc, the cancellation of the Palm Folio. Foleo had no touchscreen, a wimpy processor, and a very limited apps collection, and was still $500. at $1000 you get a lot more hardware, touchscreen, and a smaller form factor.

I can get this on my shop lol

Seriously, this is a great looking laptop though!

I want to make it a CEPC by getting rid of the harddisk and putting in CF card instead.

What are the performance specs if you replace the hard drive with a CF card? Even though a P4 or whatever inside the screen, with a diagonal measurement of 5.6" - which probably means a horizontal measurement of 4.5" or so - is not terribly useful for "real work". My j720's screen will let me see almost the full useful length of a page of text(less themargins) and my nec 880 will let me see the full width. Add to that the fact that this is not an instant on machine...I wonder if somebody goofed in the design of this.

I can't provide a reference, but I believe that I saw something that said that Fujitsu planned to come out with a solid state disk version, probably in the first half of next year, but that's only my guess.

Regards, Don

You can already buy an ide cf card adapter and replace your hard drive. True, the cf card has a limited number of cycles but I would like to try it anyway. My notebook is a p2 Dell and the hard drive is showing signs of aging..I am thinking of doing the cf card swap but first I must have a good back up plan. I am trying to see how close I can get a notebook pc to approximate my lovely j720 in boot up time, etc.

I think it's a good idea to try Microdrive as well, as they are getting very cheap.

Microdrives are fragile and slow compared to HDD...

A fast CF however would have read performance quicker than a laptop HDD....

Very nice device.
