| It does that because the ' character in HTML/UC is "'", 5 characters rather than just one. The main page readout is character limited, and truncates the string in the middle of the '.
I can come up with YACF (Yet Another Core Function) but I'm not in a programming mood at the moment. Consider it low priority to-do. |

| Oh... haha I'm so stupid... I got the impression that "previous thread" would mean something older, as in going down in the list, and "next thread" would be newer (up ). Looks like it's the other way around: "previous thread" means the one above and newer, and "next thread" is the one below and older. Time is reversed |

| Dan,
I scribbled the algorythm on a bit of scrap paper while waiting for some server goodness to kick in, so you got lucky. I have installed it onto the FP latest threads read-out and tested it, and it appears to be working just fine. I did it in not YACF but YA3CF, which cleaned something else up nicely
I have now added it to category-view - the main forum index page. Please let me know here if you see any issues with it.
Changelogs updated. |

| RFC: Is it just me, or are other people experiencing an issue with the "latest threads" system and it not displaying anything other than the last one or two posts onto the board?
Please let me know here so I can see if this needs looking into. Thanks. |

| I now know what is causing this: Outlook 2007.
It must be polling the RSS feeds and transmitting session data
Lousy IE integration *mumble mumble* |

| In my opinion, i think the "quote" button should be removed or at least only let you quote 1 line. Too many people are abusing it and quoting entire posts which makes the site a pain to read, wastes space and makes browing this site on a handheld downright unbearable.
Cheers. |

| I'm not sure how practical that would be. Sometimes you have to quote a previous post to make clear what you're responding to. I think it's just a matter of common courtesy to cut out the parts of the quoted post that aren't relevant to the reply, and not to quote at all when you're responding to the last sentence of the last post.
However, maybe reducing the font size of quotes is an option, as other forums do, and as C:Amie has already done with signatures on this site. Edited by CE Geek 2007-10-15 1:45 AM

| Discussion on quotes merged into here
What is the biggest issue, full body quoting or excessive use of white space? |

| That's a cultural trend, and there is little that I can programatically do about it.
If the community wants to develop a set of extended board rules on it and you folks want to use them to badger repeat offenders, I'm game to get involved in that. |

Except maybe reduce the font size of quotes, as I mentioned above. |

| Isn't that like giving synthetic wooden limbs to a legless race horse, it might make it get to the end a little faster, but it'll never win a race |

Straight from the horse's mouth. CE Geek, this is a single point drop on the quote font size. It is too small with a two point drop.
It doesn't really make any sort of difference, but your wish is my command
I could alwayts put the old v1 quote style back |
