Are you running any security on your home network, ie WEP? Did you enter the SSID on the Easymate (known by most of us as a Mobilepro 800)?

Yes indeed there is a WEP key on my Router but I couldn't find where to enter that key on my Easymate and I'm pretty sure that is the problem as my Easymate does find the router!

Thanks for your help, so how do I get around that snag?

Is there an wireless icon in the system tray that opens when clicked to a control panel for your card? From what you say above, you need to set up your 800 to your home network; but at least you know that nobody else in the area is using it freely without having your key. I'd be hopefully that you can find the adv feature that will allow you to enter the security aspects for your network. If you want to check that everything's working, why not remove the WEP (just for a few moments) and make your network open to ensure that your device is connecting.

ok, I tried and removed the WEP key from my router, no success.
I even entered the MAC address of the Mobilepro Wireless card as an accepted access in the router setup, no success...

But there are toom any parameters that can be changed for any valid test, if yours works, what are the settings ?

If you removed the wep key from your router and then reset it and are running without security, then all you should have to do is enter the ssid via the control panel on your easymate.

What type of wif card are you using with the easymate?

Also, after you entered the ssid info, did you warm reset your Easymate? Sometimes that makes a difference.

ok so here is the full report on the card and the handheld's posiible settings:

Start -> Programmes ->Orinoco client -> Tools-> version info:
Orinoco driver(build 632) Ready
Client: 2.10
Driver name: WLLUC46
Driver version: 7.62
Primary Firmware version 4.0
Station Fromware version: 8.72

then if you go into Advanced it finds the wireless network and my PC router named as "xxxxxxx"

It also displays Client Ready and connection excellent ( but only if "data security" has been enabled under the Wireless Network configuration profile ( control Panel -> Wireless Network))

The Card is a "WaveLan Gold" Lucent Technologies PC24E-H-FC
with a MAC address which has been entered into the router's allowed exceptions.
The card is dated Mar 01 2007

Now here are all the possible settings that could be modified in my Mobilepro800:

Internet Explorer -> View -> options -> Auto dial ? / -> Proxy server -> Use Proxy server: http//.....???

Error messages I get are:
"DHCP was unable to obtain an IP adress..."
or
"The requested URL http//www.google.com/ was not found on the router"

Control Panel settings:
Network: Adapters
Orinoco Wireless Network Driver -> Properties -> -> IP address -> obtain an IP address via DHCP ???
second choice offered is: Specify an IP address ???
Then: Name Servers -> Primary DNS / Secondary DNS / Primary WINS / Secondary Wins ????

Network: Identification
User Name: home-group ( is the name of my Win XP wireless network )
Password: ???
Domain: ????

Control Panel settings:
Wireless Network
Add / Edit configuration Profile
Select Profile
Profile Name: xxx / Network Type: Access point or Residential Gateway or Peer to Peer group ???
Next -> Network Name -> "xxxxxxxx" (same as above under Orinoco client)
Next -> enable data security -> use Alphanumeric -> a key has been entered ( if not does not detect network!)

Conclusion:
Network is detected, even the neighbours network is found but cannot access the internet.

Thanks in advance!

Harold

Okay, from the top:

1) Don't use autodial or proxy server.
2) Enable DHCP and leave address fields blank.
3) Use "Access Point"
