| See the first link in his last post. (Can only see a small part of the Windows CE 5 logo on the screenshot, though, as it's covered by a couple of small open windows. ) |

| I currently don't have working laptop (mine has damaged MoBo ) but as CE Geek wrote, this is a photo of my PC running CE5:

Note: Windows Media player is running in the window in 640x480 and more.
I'll do some more photos but I must restart my PC
I have somewhere link with some x86 CE software (like Total Commander ), I'll post it later Edited by kitor 2007-12-25 2:43 PM

| Wow!
It looks nice...
I still have a question though:
Does anybody know how to boot it from a flash card?
Happy New Year! |

| Here is some x86 software: http://thomson.dreamgates.de/dokuwiki/software:wince:programme
Here are more shots:
CE on my TV
CE Desktop
TCPMP Settings, System Properties and WR-Tools ResInfo
TCPMP Benchmark results from MPEG 640x480 movie
And from DivX 640x480 movie
The best is that when I mapped only 118 (yes, 118, not 128; 100 was Program Memory ) Mb of RAM, the divx movie has about 90% in benchmark, when I allocated 256Mb ram (230 for Program memory ) it has 259%
About boot from CF card - your laptop must have boot from PC Card option, mine (Dell Latitude c640 ) haven't got it Edited by kitor 2007-12-25 4:21 PM

| Oh, I remember, it's possible to run CF card as a hard disk using this adaptor:

| Perfect, Kitor!
That's the solution to my problem!
Ten points to you. I am ordering one of those yet tonight and can't wait till it comes through my postbox. Finally I'll be able to get it right.
And it's all thanks to you
I'll keep in touch to tell you how it went, and hopefully I will too be able to post some pics soon
Happy New Year! |

| Nothing yet...
But not surprising: not only is Finland the Christmas country but Rovaniemi is supposed to be the Christmas town per excellence. So you can imagine what a 5 million people country's post gets like when children from all over the world write to Santa...
Today I got a letter posted on the 12th |

| Ok, my damn soundcard arrived. Creative ES1370 don't work on ES1371 driver (included in Platform Builder ). But I found that Via have good support for WinCE - drivers for their chipsets (network controllers, audio, etc. ) can be found here: http://www.viaarena.com/default.aspx?PageID=2&OSID=22
I have MoBo Gigabyte GA7-VT600, based on VIA KT600 chipset so I downloaded and installed drivers to PB and made new image with these drivers. Result:
CE desktop with lan icon in tray
HPCFactor in IE, on top WMP playing mp3 file and Start menu with banner enabled. To enable banner you must modifity part of explorer code, I;m waiting for Cmonex to do the same on CE .net 4.2

| Oh I see that you are having equally good driver fun as I did the last time I built up a few CEPC's. At least there are some improvments in the native driver support as you work your way up the CE versions, trying what you are doing with CE3 and... well, it is not pretty. |
