My friend happens to have one of these HPC's he's going to let me mess around with http://www.nttdocomo.co.jp/p_s/products/mobile/win_ce/sigmarion2/si... It's really cool, but of course all the menus are in Japanese, It does have english characters on the keyboard and can type english, I'm wondering if there is anyway I might be able to switch this over to english, I know it has a flash rom, but I am familiar enough with how things work that the chance of being able to do something like that is slim to none. I can't really find out any info on these HPC's at all beyond whats on the DoCoMo site. Has anyone ever played with one?

Thanks!

The Sig II was made by NEC exclusivly for NTTDoCoMo and the Japanese market. There are no English ROMs for it.

At the very least you will need to change the wince.nls to an English one.

I've not used one of these devices but you can find more information from the page below;

http://conics.net/shp/pda/sigmarion3/

There is a link on that page on how to convert to English (at least, part English!) but the page seems unvailable at the time of writing

Good luck!

I can help you if you need any help in Japanese. In fact, I'm thinking of making a online tutorial for Japanese Windows CE OS.

(btw. I'm a Japanese)

Sweet! I hope you do! I've been wanting to learn Japanese anyway so that would be cool. I guess the HPC kinda helps me along that path anyway

What does this do when I copy the file over? Where could I get the file?

=== translated from the official site===

When you launch Capt XP, the setting window pops out. Press "開始", the button
on the very left bottom to start the screenshot timer. (5 sec default) You must specify 1 sec or more.

The middle right configures the seconds you want the timer to wait. Middle left specifies short cut key for getting the screenshot.

When you press "OK",
it will not take a screenshot. If you do not specify the saving address, it will save on the root directory.

Press the button on very buttom right for choosing the folder to save file.

The very top radio button is the area of screenshot. It is either the whole screen (very left), Window (center) or area (left)
If you select "Area" the dragged place will screenshotted.

Wince.nls = Windows CE National Language Support.
It controls the language settings for the system, menus and play with the IME I believe.

That is the tricky part of the equation... you don't get hold of it.
