Welcome John, As you can tell I am very new to and trying to understand and learn how to use the Intermec 6651. I am linking using the USB Serial Cord. In my last post I linked an website to the one I purchased. I like the usb. But I purchase mine at best buy. But I am sure you can get one cheaper on Ebay. I am having problems installing programs that they say are for win ce.. I have been looking for a good personal finanacial download something similar to MS money or quicken.. It has been very frustrating. I have yet to connect to the internet. But I am taking care of one problem at a time. Active Sync 3.8 is the newest. I also purchased a compact flash PC Card Adapter to load files on and transfer to the Intermec. but still I can not install any programs :agry:
I hope this help.

Hi, Thanks a lot, I am only 2 days "old", so everything is really fresh. What about the pen issue? Do you face the same "problem"?

Guys, sorry for being late..LOL Rich your wrong about not being able to use the USB for floppy drive. A japanese guy has done his home work with his in Japan and has a site for it.

http://home.kimo.com.tw/hpcworld/hardware.htm and
driver is located at
http://www.softclub.jp/~zoro/ce/usb020522.lzh

you need to open it with WinRAR. Reboot the device plug the usb or usb memeoery stick and you are in..rename the driver
USBMSC.

the Guys at Brightforums has been using it with great success... even 40GB external drives.

I'm sorry for taken sooo long to answer.

I was using active sync. I figured it out now. This is all new to me. I giant learning process. I have my wireless working now. My son configured it for me.

I guess you can not download programs directlly onto the Intermec 6651. Which a bummer because I really was wanting to use this as a stand alone Laptop.

Is there anyway to upgrade from HPC 2000 to 2002? Because I have MS Money 2004 and it requires pc 2002 and up. But I did purchase MS 2001 and I can use that on my Intermec. Well i hope anyways. It should be in today. I tried Cash Organizer. Just not for me. I do not like having to go online to obtain a code.

Well I have gone on about something else besides the serial cable.

You may find this useful:
http://www.hpcfactor.com/support/cesd/s/0049.asp

There is no such thing as H/PC 2002, it's a Pocket PC release and it is not possible to upgrade any H/PC device to that release.
HPC2000 is the highest supported OS by the Intermec.

Wo wo, Ceya...I stand corrected. That's pretty cool. And it's agravating as well as I never got the chance to try it out with my 6651...and I had a USB floppy just sitting there as well. Arrgh. Lots of good info at that site.

Hi Cmonex,

Like I said I am really new to this and it is a giant learning process for me. I hear a lot about cab files. So I search for downloads that are cab files?

How does this work?
