Greetings,

Have tried unsuccessfully to search the forums to find info I'm interested in...

Have tried using different computers in different physical locations on different networks....no go....

Thanks,

Mark

You guys (and girls..) are so cryptic
ArchiMark, the search function hasn't been working properly for a long time, that's a long story. However you can get that to work by using some parameters like "search in subjects" only and searching posts made in a specific period..

Good luck

OK, just tried Dan's tip....finally got search to work, but not checking the box that checks messages, just subjects....

Unfortunately, by doing that the search function doesn't find any threads that I'm looking for....

I'd like to find any threads, info on cases for the 720, if anyone has a way to do that I'd appreciate knowing how!

yeah the secret is... restrict the search parameters, at least by one thing. you can search for messages just fine, but then restrict the search to a specific subforum or time interval, or poster name etc. - one restriction is usually enough

the cause of the problem is that the search function was setup in the wrong mode after the last server crash (doesn't search in binary mode or something like that), so it is much slower to perform a search, so if it is too generic it will time out

I also do on google in the search bawx:

site:hpcfactor.com search terms here

So if I want to see something about browsers I would do:

site:hpcfactor.com browser

If I want to see something about a specific device, say Pencentra I do:

site:hpcfactor.com PenCentra
