Whip out a very small soldering iron...the battery-low warning can
(not easily
) be repaired. It is a common problem on the 95LX's.
You would have to repair a condensator somewhere.
(Maybe just removing it is enough though, if you only run on batteries
).

Did you
(ever
) oil the hinges? Cleaning them with a bit of alcohol will restore the tightness in that case.
If you ever put in WD45 - start praying, the hinges may have dissolved a bit.
