Airpanel 100 question

Someone hacked the firmware. The standard firmware images aren't quite compatible. I think the difference is in where they write themselves in to memory. They start at different addresses (I think).

I still have a copy. I'll go have a look at rapidshare (even though I loath it).

Okay I tried it last night and it just hung like it did before.
Then I looked at the file and it had the same size and date as the one I had tried before (and failed).
Did you upload the correct file?

It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure those are the files I used.

How long did you let it run? I seem to recall that it took a fair amount of time.

I left it running for at least 30 min. I think the image file you have is the same stock image that Viewsonic has on their website.
The filesize and dates are the same, so I suspect it is not a hacked version of the file.

I got both kinds of the dwl-650 to work (world with circles and world without circles). I want to offer some fuller instructions because it took me a while to figure out how to get the drivers over to the airpanel 100 without activesync or a cradle and how to actually install the drivers. I got an airpanel 100 that was being thrown away so I had zero documentation.

My device has ce.net 4.1 so I got the ce.net 4.xx, version 3.xx.xxxx zip file.

1. On a pc unzip these cab files to a folder (airpanel can not unzip files)
2. Copy that folder to a usb drive and plug usb drive into airpanel
3. On the airpanel go to my computer and it will show up as "hard drive". It might take 30+ seconds for it to show up.
4. Click on each cab file until one of them runs to install the drivers.
5. Plug in wireless card
6. It will ask for the name of the driver. Enter prismnds.dll. Be sure to click the OK button. Just hitting enter key will not make it save the setting.
7. Now you can configure the network in the windows part. Doing it in the prism control might work also.
8. If you set a static ip, unplug card and plug it back in to make it take effect.

Thanx for the tips. A little additional info:

1) You can unzip files on the Airpanel - you just need a third-party program to do it. (Total Commander does the job nicely, among others. )

2) Rather than test each CAB file, just use the 2577 one in the first place.

FWIW, by using Alpaxo Redgear I got Manga Meeya CE working on a Viewpad 100 running Win CE 3.0. (MMCE works fine on an Airpanel CE.net without RedGear). I've been having fun reading the old Classics Illustrated comic books.

I have not posted for a long time but I come by to keep up on things and to see if there’s anything new with the 100 mine has worked perfectly with SpreadCE that I run from my CF card and import/export data from my other computers. What I would like to know has anyone taken the 4.1 to 4.2 or above and can somebody give me a list of programs that they have working on there 100 I really like it but I find my self wanting a tablet like a v1100

Im trying to hunt down a v212 cradle myself which seems almost non existent even though its the most recent tablet.
