Why do you persist in this game? The Opera CAB is free to download directly from Opera. How can some MegaUpload/RapidShare junk be better? One last time, I humor you with the direct link to download the CAB that works on devices... with RedGear.
http://get.opera.com/pub/opera/winmobile/865/opera_wm2003_ppc_865.cab

thanks
so with Redgear enabled, jornada reset with pencil next to q, I got those error messages:

Would you have any ideas?

I got that too when trying to install Opera 8.65 to a Storage Card on my 728 (with RedGear). You shouldn't have this problem if you install it to RAM instead. (You can always move it later.)

Heh, /usr/bin... this isn't Linux. Unix directory hierarchy won't work here. If you install Opera onto Storage Card, it must be into \Storage Card\Program Files\Opera. So before installing, create the folders "\Storage Card\Program Files" and "\Storage Card\Application Data" first. Then use the CAB installer to install into "\Storage Card\Program Files\Opera", and it should work fine. Ignore any messages about incompatible device (although I've never seen this happen with RedGear enabled).

The next version of RedGear will be sure the user installs into the expected folders (either \Program Files or \Storage Card\Program Files). Many Pocket PC applications expect this hierarchy to be set up already on the Storage Card.

P.S. This thread is about Opera on Sig 3, not Jornada. And as has been mentioned several times before, the Alpaxo Software Forums are the place to ask RedGear questions.

The solutions posted above have worked for others with this problem. This is a problem with Opera, not RedGear. Many smartphones have similar problems with installing Opera.

Holy $@#%... If Redgear is ever supported on the sig3, I would become a customer undoubtedly. I really hate how my sig3 has so much potential, but I can't do what I really want with it other than using remote desktop and pretending it runs xp or win7 beta. If I could get a fast web browser, and an IM program that supports yahoo, I'd get a whole lot of use out of the sig. Might even have to hunt down a better battery for it.

i have opera & yahoo working (though opera is hacky, until real support comes but works nice). and as for yahoo, I'm using that via bitlbee (and an irc client), so unless you need fluff it can work for you too.

yes batteries are useful i remember there were a lot in japan readily available (as long as you got someone helping with the order)

Is _s2.dll, _ellcore.dll and _oredl.dll (but you can use another coredll.dll). I did nothing, only took these dlls, uninstal redgear, put it to the same directory where is Opera installed and edit dll's name in OperaWm.exe. That's it.
Opera is working.

I tried and does not load those .dll, anyone else tried this and can help me to get opera woking on S3

Heh, if you insist on doing this, why not install RedGear and then disable it:
- Install RedGear
- Uninstall RedGear; it will say it has been disabled and to soft reset
- Soft reset, but don't uninstall RedGear again
- RedGear now doesn't load on startup

Rather than editing Opera, maybe it is possible to enable RedGear once before running Opera, then disable it, by using its start menu icon. As I already said, I have no Sig III to test on.
