I extracted a program icon from say Regedit.exe. When I tried to load the extracted icon onto a custom desktop skin, I received the errror message "No 32Bit Icon Found". Tried to compare the properties of the extracted icon with those of a working icon. They both have the following Properties Summary:

Width 16 pixels
Height 16 pixels
Horizontal Resolution 96 dpi
Vertical Resolution 96 dpi
Bit Depth 32
Frame Count 1

Please advise how I can make a working icon

CE 4 does not actually support 32-bit icons. Try it at 16 or 24-bit and see if the error goes away.

I am sorry not having mentioned that my device is running Windows CE 5.0

I'm not entirely sure where CE5 stands, try it at 24 bit and see?

Problem solved.

Checked with an icon editor and noted that the extracted icon was not of 32 bit color depth (though the Properties Summary showed it was). Converted it to 32 bit and then it worked.
