| Is there some way to revert to the old forum layout on a per-user basis? I looked through the user settings and was unable to find anything that did so. The reason I ask is because the new layout is distracting to me and personally it just seems out of place and quite odd from a design standpoint.

| Not at the moment no. I've run out of time on my few days off for my winter maintenance. It will be looked into at somepoint though.
It is designed to address the only complaint that I've ever received about v2 from users and that was that they didn't like the loss of 214px on the left of the forum screen.
In what way is it 'distracting'? |

| It will take me a while to get used to it. I would like to be able to see my inbox on any page but the main page again!!! |

| Personally, I always found it a pain to have to navigate off the home page before I could see whether I have messages. |

Personally, I always found it a pain to have to navigate off the home page before I could see whether I have messages. Having message alerts on the fp is a different question to what Yoldering asked... I think. Putting it on the FP isn't the issue, it's easy. Finding somewhere convenient to put it always has been. |

| I see it now... The problem is that the text is almost the same color as the background. I am using the red background. It is really hard to see. |

| Did you change the color since my last post? Now the text is white and it looks great! I like it a lot. |

| No sir, C:Amie went to bed at 11:30 local. Your browsers must be failing for some reason to pickup the new stylesheets (I tested in IE6/7/FF3 and it picked up instantly, perhaps it's opera?)
The bar with:
Welcome, C:Amie. Your Settings | New / Active Posts | 0 New Messages | Alerts (2) | Logoff
Should be a black base colour (the |'s) and white hyperlinks
Is someone using something that isn't IE6+/FF? Perhaps if they can clear out their browser cache, then screenshot what they're seeing I can see what the problem is. |

| Now it is dark again. I can barely see it. But, I am on my home desktop at the moment using Firefox, when I switched to IE, I see the line in white. Edited by Yoldering 2009-01-08 7:38 AM

| Please close all browser sessions, empty out your cache and try it again. If it still does it please let me know your os/browser and may be a screenie of the region.
Edit: I've checked the design here on ce 4.2 and it is ok in MSIECE. |
