If you are a music connoisseur, then the chances are that somewhere, in one format or another you will have a record of all the artists, titles, tracks and formats of your entire collection - but what use is that record if it is left at home while you are in the music store?

MusicWiseCE from Wise Innovations allows you to port your entire catalogue into digital format (if not already) and share that information in an functional way between your desktop PC and your Handheld PC.
John Ottini reviews MusicWiseCE for the Handheld PC in his latest review here on HPC:Factor.

Read the review and have your say here on the forums.

Certainly proves there's more than plywood between those two ears

Too much sun, pha! the idea

So, I'd like to get the ball rolling with question for the stormy one.

Say I have a excel file or access database with my collection in, is there a way to import it by using the host client or ActiveSync?

Too much sun indeed - It was a balmy 101 F degrees in Orlando yesterday and it's only May.

Chris - Since the MusicWise data is stored as a .mdb file I would imagine that a talented fellow like yourself, could find a way to transfer data from an existing excel or access file - I haven't tried it, so I don't know what is possible in this area. I would think, that would be a good question to ask the Wise Innovations support folks, before you register the product.

One other thing ....... I seem to remember (or was it to much sun?) reading the FAQ section on the Music Wise website and they mentioned that you can send them an existing database file and they will transfer it into a format that is useable in MusicWiseCE for you.

I found their support team very responsive and I would recommend that anyone with questions or concerns about this product, drop them an email.

This probably doesn't answer your question, but it's the best a boy with ply-wood between the ear can do!

John,

So do they charge to do these conversions?

That is a great add-on service by them.

Regards,

I think the service is free to registered MusicWiseCE users, but I'm not 100% certain about that.... please check with Wise Innovations (I don't want to miss lead anyone).
