Aero 8000 users - if you haven't already, check out TextMaker 2002. After checking out the reviews here, I installed the demo version and it worked great. It is still possible to purchase this great software for the SH4/CE 2.11 - although going through the German version of ebay was a real challenge.

Cool - wish I'd known before purchasing the Pocket PC version (which I have on my NEC 900C).

They only sell it on their Ebay webside (ebay.de) for about $30 US - 22 EUR.

Geez - I only paid $15 for the Pocket PC version, downloaded directly from SoftMaker.

Doesn't SoftMaker sell it directly anymore? I thought that you could still e-mail them and get it via "special request".

According to the Softmaker staff I communicated with, the only way to get Textmaker 2002 was to go to their ebay site and order it from there.

This is the link I was given from SoftMaker. I was also advised to request the version for HPC. The Ebay site is all in German. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I've seen that listing the past couple days, but wasn't sure if I should contact them through that listing since it's for Pocket PCs. But it sounds like you're saying people wanting the SH4 version should contact SoftMaker through the ebay.de listing rather than directly through the SoftMaker site. (Sounds a little weird, but I'll do it that way.)

The price still strikes me as a bit steep for seven-year-old software (especially given that they sold the Pocket PC version on US eBay for $15 well over a year ago) - but it'd sure be nice to have it on my Aero 8000. (Any possibility of haggling the price with them, I wonder? )

I queried them directly through their website. Their sales people supplied me with the link to their ebay site and indicated that was the only way they sold it. (Honestly, I was just relieved that they still sold it!)

I also spent some time checking out the TextMaker 2002 discussions on the Softmaker support forum. One thing you might try is asking about a license upgrade, since you already have the Pocket PC licence. I saw some references to upgrades on their support forum.

That thought has occurred to me too. Think I'll give that a shot first. Thanx for the heads-up, DarkKnight.
