Hitachi Hpw-600 Eut

Hi. I'm new and i hope to feel good here.
I've found two of these device in a street market for 20€ new and boxed
I've got some question about this device:
- what is the best wi-fi card for it?
- can i upgrade the os of these device?
- can i upgrade the ram and the HDD?
- what windows mobile correspond to wince 2.21?
- where can i find some programs for it?
- there're any skin for this os?

where do you find such cool things for 20€? I've never seen somthing like that on a street market....

wifi: I think an Orinoco silver or gold should work fine

RAM: update, maybe you find a 32MB module but more will not work
OS Upgrade: there are devices with CE2.11 and 3.0 maybe you could get a module from a 3.0 device
to flash the rom or something like this will not be that easy....

Sofrtware: right here under downloads and search a bit and you will find links to things that should run on the HPW-600

Skins: hmm I dunno, there is an Win XP Skin but I've no idea if it works on CE2.11... never cared about something like that cause I like the oldschool style of Win CE

I can find it also on ebay ita for 20-40€ but used (see 1-2-3-4-5). I think that i've got only a little bit of fortune.

I think that risk for the 3.0 version is not too smart...it have got the 2.11.

There's no Windows Mobile with 2.x kernel, the same for PocketPC 2000 wich is based on 3.0.**** kernel.

Answers to some of your questions:

No, you can't upgrade the OS (and there is no HDD in the device). Windows Mobile refers to Pocket PCs and Smartphones with Windows CE 4.2 .net or higher, so there is no corresponding version of WM for CE 2.11.

You can also still find many H/PC programs on the Windows Mobile Today site. (Just make sure that you use the SH4 versions of each program, if available - you'll usually see this identified either in the download link or inside the download package itself.) Be aware that many Windows CE 2.11 programs did not include SH4 versions (and SH3 versions generally won't work).

Both are compatible, but here in the US at least, there are lots of Agere-based cards (similar to the WL-110 in one of the links) to be had for half that amount.
