| Great, keep the work units coming.
You've got a bit of a way to go before you catch up to first place there Yoldering
The team page for BOINC is here: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/team_display.php?teamid=31634 |

| Ever since my computer crashed I have been using this 366mhz PC, so I could not keep the lead in the team I enjoyed for so long. I thought I would be able to contribute with this computer but had to dump BOINC the other day so until I upgrade I will not have any new units |

| Okay, I just now joined the HPC Factor team and I installed BOINC and I am now waiting for it to give me work..
EDIT: By the way, C:Amie, why are you using Win XP Pro SP1 instead of SP2?

| I'm not.
When the BOINC team was founded when they performed the stats port from classic I probably was though.
Edit: I'm not Chris-Itanium-Network
Edit 2: I have updated the banner artwork on the group page and added the Finnish flag to the member flags image. |

| Well I went and did it. I just bought a new desktop. WoooHooo, SETI I'm back!!! Well as soon as I get home and download it. I have been so far out of it for so long with the PC I was used. Deal was too good to be true, almost. |

| It is not the best or fastest PC but for the price it is the best desktop in the world.
As I have said before I will throw in 3-4 total Ghz of DDR SDRAM once I get home and remove it from my other two old computers, and that will make it scream. But here are the stats as is.
AMD 3400+ processor; 256 MB of DDR SDRAM expandable to 4 GB; 100-GB SATA hard drive; CD-RW/DVD-RW-ROM drive; ATI Radeon XPress 200 graphics; seven USB 2.0 ports and two Firewire ports; 9-in-1 memory-card reader; 10/100 Ethernet network adapter. Also a NETGEAR 54MBPS wireless G PCI adapter, that I just finished installing.
I could have spent more money, but I didn’t. I got it on a special for $250 after tax. As I have said before I try to finding the best price. Edited by Yoldering 2006-05-20 6:06 PM

| I think Yoldering is capable of answering that question himself tenjeangosi. Pleased to have you back though.
£145, blimey.
Great deal! good spec too. Is the RAM DDR or DCDDRRAM (DDR2 )?
Shame about the AMD though
I'm currently using a pII 266MHz Dell Latitude, as it's the only computer I can find at short notice. My main desktop's hard disk went "meh".
I needed the hard disks out of the other avaialble PC to mirror my data partitions onto, so I have down-sized. Everything else is in server roles.
So right now even a 3400 AMD sounds good
... actually I have no complaints with this 266. If you treat it for what it is, and I don't try and be clever with it and run HPC:Factor from it, it does everything that it's required to do.
It's also nice to have it on WiFi and move about. Can't do that with my main PC in it's server tower. |

| You have to use the BOINC link, the classic one isn't working at the moment, hence the 404. |
